"Kite's sound is the unlikely combination of elemental, spartan reggae and the moodiness of introspective/anthemic rock."
Kite are from the small Caribbean island of Barbados and have been strutting their stuff since 2004, receiving wide radio airplay and developing a large, loyal following through their live performances. Touted as one to watch in the region, Kite release their second album in September 2007...
New Album
Kite's new album Thirteen Degrees North features a sackful of shiny new songs, an enhanced CD plus music video, a 'fly-on-the-wall' documentary and other goodies. Check the music page for snippets from both the debut album 'Up In The Air' and their new album, 'Thirteen Degrees North'.
Thirteen Degrees North was recorded 2005-2006 in Barbados in 'De Shed' and was written, arranged, produced and engineered by Kite. This meant having very long arms and even longer fuses. When the recording was finished, the album was mixed by Rich Isaac and mastered by Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer Charlie Pilzer.
Much of this was captured on the mini-doc on the CD that was put together by vividview. They also produced the music video for Firefly and will release the upcoming video for the second single from the album, 'Light From A Dead Star', at the official Barbados release of Thirteen Degrees North in September 2007 - it will be available for those of you outside Barbados on our MySpace page - so look out for it!
